eBook readers have come a long way, with the Kindle leading the pack in  availability and flexibility. eBook readers can do more than just display the text of digitized books, they can browser the web, display emails and download newly purchased books automatically. Unlike a Kindle Fire tablet screen they don’t reflect  sunlight, and they typically use no power when a page is displayed. Power is only required when a page is turned or you download books.
